The Story Behind The Art
Kate & Babyshakes
"Kate & Babyshakes" is a finalist painting in the 2026 Brisbane Portrait Prize, featuring Kate Dillon alongside her masked stage persona, Babyshakes.
Kate "Babyshakes" Dillon fronts Full Flower Moon Band, whose 2024 album MEGAFLOWER captures the band's bold, shape-shifting sound. Brisbane artist, Good God created the mask for the album.
The painting is on display at the State Library of Queensland as part of the Brisbane Portrait Prize exhibition, which runs until 7 November 2026.
